Serving Up Savory Slices Since 1959
Grandpa Alfano, founder of Alfano’s Pizza, began working in his family’s pizza place in 1959 in Sicily, Italy. Before Pete was tall enough to reach the counter, he started working on the pizzeria alongside his father. He used to stand up on the cases in order to see over the top.
As a youth, Pete visited Sicily during his summers and became fascinated by Italian cooking. He loved the little island and its cooking so much, he completed half of his high school education and his college education in Sicily. Many of his family members continue to live in Sicily today.
In 1998, Pete opened Alfano’s Pizza in Knoxville and began serving the area’s only authentic Italian pizza. Pete Alfano’s Pizza offers homemade foods—including our dough, sauce, and bread—and uses only the finest ingredients.
Other franchises and gas stations use conveyor ovens to simplify the process, sacrificing quality. We do it the right way—using stone deck ovens to always enhance the flavor and texture of the pizza—and the quality of our food reflects that love.
